Whole Body Cryotherapy

Know About

Cryotherapy

Ice therapy has long been used by doctors, physical therapists, athletic trainers and moms to treat injuries ranging from bumps, bruises, muscle injury and soreness to burns. Whole Body Cryo therapy (WBC) exposes the body to temperatures low enough to trigger a systemic anti-inflammatory response. The client is placed in a cryosauna for just one and half to three minutes which lowers the client’s skin surface temperature quickly and significantly enough to stimulate the body’s response without causing any damage to tissue. No other treatment can duplicate these results without a high risk of injury.

Benefits

Recovery Boost

If your job or fitness routine makes your muscles sore, cryotherapy is safe and more effective than traditional anti-inflammatory medicines. Many professional athletes have found the secret to bouncing back from a tough workout or an intense game. Crossfit aficionados push their bodies to the limit, but with cryo they are finding their way back to the gym more quickly than before. People that have demanding jobs that require them to be on their feet all day, sit at a desk, or chase kids around have been able to see dramatic muscle healing from cryotherapy. People with chronic pain such as arthritis, plantar facaitis, back pain, fibromyalgia, and many other have seen relief with whole body cryotherapy.

Benefits

Cryo Energy Boost

Not only do your muscles recover faster, but cryotherapy also give you more energy. Muscles respond quicker and this has an impact on performance. Professional athletes are able to play at a higher level day after day. Workouts become more focused and the body reaps greater benefits.

Benefits

Cryo Metabolism Boost

The cryotherapy body hack starts by bring the blood to the core and enriching it with oxygen and nutrients. After the treatment this blood is sent back throughout the body. This reaction burns 500 to 800 calories by itself. Clients have also reported improvement for psoriasis and acne. Reports of increased collagen and overall improvement in complexion are very common.

Benefits

Cryo Mood Boost

Rebooting your system with cryotherapy also has many mental benefits. Many people experience better sleep, which leads to a positive mood. During the treatment your body releases endorphins as part of its response to the cold temperature. These endorphins trigger hormonal benefits that help to improve mood.

Cryotherapy Equipment and Procedures

CryoBoost utilizes the most advanced cryotherapy equipment on the market. Criomed has been producing cryosaunas for many years and has developed the safest most technologically advanced machine available. The cryosauna is cooled with gasiform liquid nitrogen to temperatures of −110 °C to −150 °C (−166 °F to −238 °F).

What to Expect

In the Cryosauna, males wear socks, gloves, underwear and slippers while women wear socks, slippers and gloves. It is very important that the patient be completely dry and not wear any metal jewelry. During treatment the average skin temperature drops to 10 °C (50 °F), while the coldest skin temperature can be 5 °C (41 °F). The core body temperature remains constant during the treatment, however it may dip slightly afterwards. Therapy triggers the release of endorphins which induce analgesia (immediate pain relief).*

Cryotherapy Protocols:

Post Workout

Minimize recovery time by doing cryotherapy right after a workout

Acute Injury

Speed healing and reduce inflammation by doing cryotherapy as quickly as possible after an injury. Multiple sessions may be needed within the same day.

Pre-Op

Get as many sessions as you can in before going in to surgery. We have seen great results with ACL, MCL, meniscus, rotator cuff, hip replacement and knee replacement.

Post-Op

As soon as you can stand and turn. Cryotherapy has been used successfully to speed the healing of cosmetic surgeries.

Performance

It is best to get a cryotherapy session in the afternoon or evening for increased performance the next morning. To increase performance and stamina for an afternoon/evening competition or workout – cryotherapy should be done 2 or 4 hours before. If you have multiple events throughout the day, cryotherapy can be successfully used in between these events.
